❝ spring for flirting but fall for the untamed delicious wild things ❞

{ an autumn mixer }
lissa.
They come across a medieval tavern decked out in Halloween finery with fabric ghosts in the windows and lights strung across the bartop. It's easier to blend in here, especially when she has a black mask, hair pulled back into a sleek ponytail, clad in a figure-hugging jumpsuit. There are, of course, cat ears atop her head to complete the look. Not the most creative, but it was the best she could do having learned of this outing only yesterday.
Having fed beforehand, she feels entirely at ease in the crowd, though she does feel a little annoyed at having to wait so long to order a pumpkin-flavored beer. (The tavern does not have fancy cocktails.)
"Pardon me... hello?"

Between popping in and out of parties (crashing mostly), he’s been keeping himself busy. As the night goes on, the local bars grow more crowded and draw his interest. The sound of a familiar voice over the din of conversation grabs his interest immediately. Working through the crush of people, many of whom, like Lissa, are still waiting on drinks, creepy clown Matthias offers a smile.
“They’re horribly understaffed here,” he sighed.

"So I've heard," she muses dryly, giving a little sigh. Drinks can wait a bit now that he's here.
She lets her eyes flick over him with interest before settling her expression into a warm smile. "And to whom am I speaking tonight?" Lissa teases, stepping closer to him even if this puts her spot at the bar at risk. There are others waiting for a spot at the front. It's tempting to flash her teeth but she doesn't want to cause a stir tonight. Even if it would be so easy to do so during the holiday.

"Who, indeed?" He grins at the question, though. This is a fun game they have going on and Matthias loves little more than games. "I think I'll be Mads, tonight." The smile doesn't fade as he runs a hand down Lissa's arm to twine his fingers with hers. "I happen to know a place to get a drink that doesn't have a line. Can I interest you?"

She knows Matthias isn't good news, but to her, he's never been especially bad. At least bad in ways that aren't to her benefit.
"Mads," Lissa murmurs with a grin, leaning in close so she can whisper in his ear. "You're not going to spirit me away to another country, are you?"

"I was thinking somewhere a little closer tonight." Like, his place, for example.
