❝ Masquerade ❞

{ seething shadows breathing lies }
Traditional thing that Iseul is, he made a point of sending out invitations to every monster and supernatural being with whom he's acquainted the day after telling Damian of his masked ball. Each is written in a large, looping hand and reads:
- My Dear Friend,
You are cordially invited to a most exclusive masquerade ball to be held at my estate on the next new moon. The attire is formal with a theme of silver and gold. My doors will open promptly at 8:00pm. Dinner will be served with music, dance, and festivities to follow.
I do so look forward to your attendance.
Kindest Regards,
Your Host
Guests will find the house dark and sprawling, positively goth in decor and style. For those who know or know of Iseul, this won't be a surprise. There's a running joke in the community that the Fae is truly meant to be a vampire... more so than his long-standing vampire rival. Those in attendance will be shown to the parlor, the pocket doors thrown wide to the adjoining suite to make it something of a small ballroom. Musicians sit off to the corner playing with few breaks throughout the night.
The dining room boasts a long table with a veritable banquet. Though, one must be careful about eating Faerie food. Never fear, dear guests, for none of this food was prepared or even harvested by Fae hands. Outside, the grounds are covered with sprawling flower gardens, topiaries, and even a small maze of hedges. Lanterns light the paths since there's no moon for light. Both in and out, the house has many dark nooks and crannies and unoccupied to rooms to disappear into. All guests are welcome to stay if, for any reason, they are unable to leave at first light.
Tiras
Enjoying his charm that kept people from falling for his natural charm, he lingered mostly in crowded rooms with glasses of wine in hand. However when he grew tired of all the people, he'd go to sit in quieter rooms. This meant the magic given to him by Iseul stopped working as well. And the chance of falling for the incubus and longing to sleep with him or even falling in love with him? Well that increased tenfold when he was on his own.
Oh well. He supposed it just meant some easy snacks along the way...

He doesn't even try to hide the childlike excitement. It's like a sports fan randomly running into their idol on the street, it caught him so off-guard.
"You're actually real!"
no subject
"I am the last I checked, yes." Why that should matter was beyond him though. It wasn't like he cared who thought he was real and who didn't.

"I'm DangerNoodle93." That's his handle on the blog. And he is a prolific commenter there.

"Oh! It's so nice to meet you. I never imagined you'd be here at a fae party of all places."
no subject
Oh, shit! He's staring, isn't he?
Snake rubs a hand against the back of his neck and laughs. It's a nervous little sound accompanied by a smile. "Yeah, it's just dumb luck, actually. I think the invitation was for whoever lived there before me." But since it wasn't addressed to anyone specific, the fae had no excuse to turn him away.
"This sorta thing happens a lot."

Reaching out, he took his hand so he could pull him away to some chairs for them to sit down. It was so exciting for him to interact with someone from something he had a passion for. One of his favorite hobbies that Su-jin always helped him with. Smiling brightly, he sat down and swept his robe out so it would sit properly.
"What is your real name? I like your username but let me know you."
no subject
"Oh, it's Daniel. But everyone calls me Snake. Hence the username."
no subject
But no. He'd never do that. Mainly because he utterly adored how this was his second biggest fan in the world. Never would he keep him from continuing to comment and enjoy the content of his cryptid site.
Lowering his hands into his lap, he tilted his head. "I'm impressed you recognized me so fast. You truly are a fan."
no subject
"I've been following your blog for a long time." It probably predates Snake. Back from the good old days of Web 1.0. His smile's bright, but only a little awkward (after all, this guy is like his hero after all!). "It's what inspired me to start my own."
no subject
Oh wait. Su-jin had his phone. Well he'd just look it up later then and follow it!
Instead he poured all his attention back into Snake, leaning forward with a smile to show his interest.

"Uh, it's called Move Over Mothman. I write about," he gestures to the party going on and all the very non-human creatures around them, "just this sorta thing. I kinda... Well, I just stumble into situations like this where I'm usually one of few, if not the only regular human. I write about the real paranormal creatures. But carefully. The last thing I want is to put any of you in danger by giving too many specifics."
no subject
He wiggled in his seat and smiled wider. "You don't have to worry about me, sweet one. I'm very delicate in appearance but it takes so much more to bring me to danger."
Honestly? Tiras was the danger in actuality.

presuming they don't use Tiras' name on the conspiracy blog...
I'd say that's a fair assumption

But with Tiras present, how can anyone expect Su-jin won't eventually gravitate to his partner's side? It's quite late by the time he seeks the incubus out, certain he's had a snack or three by then. Despite the charm their host provided, there's only so much that can be done to stifle the abilities of a creature as powerful as Tiras. Even Su-jin falls prey to them sometimes.
But usually, he's just in silent awe of Tiras. Well, when he's not sighing over how put upon he is because of Tiras (no one who matters believes that for a moment!). Tonight he's just happy Tiras is wearing shoes. And, you know, something that leaves a little something to the imagination. To others' imaginations. Su-jin needn't imagine anything after all their centuries together.
Finding his lover in a quieter, less busy room, he sidles up behind him, looping his arms around that slim waist to pull Tiras against him. It's literally been several hours since they arrived, but Su-jin heaves a dramatic sigh as he rests his chin on his partner's shoulder.
"I missed you."
for real
"Did you? We've been at the same party all night."
He hummed and lifted his hands up to rest his arms on Su-jin's before tilting his head back to rest it on his shoulder.
"Should I reassure you?"
Re: for real
Su-jin tilts his head to press his cheek to Tiras' hair. He breathed the incubus in and then let out a quiet laugh. "You should. I'm feeling very insecure." He's really not. They've both been off having their own versions of fun. Su-jin loves to socialize and there are a few familiar faces he spent time catching up with.
"Perhaps we could find a particularly dark corner..."
no subject
"I know where there's a good one. I spotted it earlier."
Turning his head, he looked in the direction of it. Dark. Obscured by drapery. A perfect spot for a quick moment between lovers. "What do you think?"
no subject
"Can you be quiet enough?" They aren't in the most crowded room, but there are still some few guests milling about and wandering in at out. It's much quieter than more bustling parts of the house, where the din of chatter and music might better obscure their actions.
"Can you be quiet?" he asks in a voice hoping the answer is a resounding no.
no subject
"Why would I be quiet?"
So clearly the answer was no.

He huffed then went to squirm in his arms, clearly trying to make Su-jin get over to where he wanted to go. Namely over there where it was going to be a lot more fun. For both of them. "Let's go."

So once he had him in the shadowed nook, he yanked him in close to kiss him deeply. Practically demanding all of his attention and affection in that moment. He was starving for it basically. And not at all afraid to show him.

Su-jin shuffled forward until he’d pushed Tiras against whatever was behind them – a wall, a bookcase, it didn’t really matter. Just as the scent of someone else on him didn’t matter. It wasn’t unusual, after all. It just gave Su-jin a good excuse to rub himself and his scent all over his partner.
