Vegas reached for his gun the instant he realized Chasin was going to get himself free. He wasn't alone, per se, his goons were just outside the door. But a lot could happen in the six feet between him and that door. BUt when his 'captive' made no effort to actually move from where he was, Vegas relaxed by degrees.
Could he really just have some proposition?
Vegas' eyes narrowed slightly. Someone in his family with a bounty? It had to be an immediate family member since this guy arranged to get caught by Vegas. If it wasn't him... It couldn't be Macau, so it must be Gun. A flicker of conflict sparked in him. He should have some loyalty to Gun, if not as a subordinate, then as a son. And yet, he found himself thinking if Gun wanted his loyalty, maybe he should've been a little better to Vegas for all these years.
Vegas leaned against the cabinet behind him, folding his hands in front of him as a sign of truce. "I'm listening."
Oh a truce. Nice. That meant he was going to have a fun time here. Chasin liked that and made himself a little more comfortable by getting up and going to the bed to sit down on it. Though he could have popped his joints out of socket to get the cuffs off, he left them on instead. Again...a truce. He'd stay cuffed and hot guy would listen. Perfect compromise.
"Your dad has a huge price on his head. I'd say enough to shake things up if people knew about it here. So I got myself into some trouble to get his attention so he'd want to bring me to one of the properties. The fact that you're listening? Well that tells me that you don't have a lot of love for dear ol' dad. So I want to make a deal with you. Interested in the terms?"
If people knew about it here. That rang strangely to Vegas ears. Sure, yeah, Gun had enemies, but he also had the protection of the Theerapanyakul name. A move against him was likely to bring the wrath of the whole family down on whomever tried. Pride and all that. Even if his dad and uncle hated each other, their name meant more than their individual feelings. That extended to all areas of their influence, not just Thailand.
“What do you mean ‘if people knew about it here?’”
"You could say I'm not from around here. Thailand or this world. I'm from another world and I move around through tech more advanced than you've ever seen. I can prove it if you need that. But the fact is that sometimes shits like your dad end up as targets for people on other worlds. And they pay way better than anyone on this world ever could."
All of this probably sounded like bullshit to this guy. But that was fine. He didn't really care if he believed him or not. He'd make this work regardless as long as he was given enough time. If he didn't get the son on his side then it just meant he'd have to go about this other ways.
Bullshit. Batshit. Some kind of shit. But there's something about Chasin that prompts Vegas to doubt him slightly less. He's already shown how capable he is. That doesn't mean he's not 100% bonkers.
Lifting his chin slightly, Vegas presses his lips together then says, "Go on, show me." He needs to see proof of what this man's claiming if he's going to go out on a limb against his own father.
