While far less difficult than it was for Laurent, travel had been hard for Elyas as well. Oh, he has the ability to move about freely as he's not governed by the sun or lack thereof, but being separated from his beloved is always tough. When the hours stretch on for too long, it starts to feel like he's mourning a loss, despite knowing that he'll see Laurent again. It's different when they're home, when they're in their own space together, then the heartache of leaving Laurent to spend a few hours with the sun is much less. Then he can come home with stories and gifts! He can come home with beautiful flowers and sun-warmed cheeks to nuzzle against his vampire.
But while they travel, there are few pleasant things to do to truly keep the fox occupied and few things to surprise Laurent with when he sees him again so all he can truly do is pine for his love.
Elyas is outside in their newly planted flower garden, lovingly tending to them as he speaks incessantly of Laurent, when the sun finally dips far enough down under the horizon. He chirps a quick 'I'll see you later' to the plants then heads inside in search of Laurent.
He stops in his tracks the moment he sees Laurent standing out on the balcony. He needs to truly appreciate this sight. His vampire, with his hair lightly blowing in the sea breeze and standing against the backdrop of the dark sky, gently silhouetted by the moon. Truly a breathtaking sight.
Soon enough, however, Elyas joins Laurent at his side, smiling softly at the brush of cool lips against his warm skin. Then he leans out over the railing of the balcony a little, looking down at the sea crashing against the rocks.
"Oh it's wonderful so far! It's everything I'd never even thought to dream of. Oh, I wish you could see the countryside in the daytime though. It's beautiful."
