Su-jin welcomed Silvio closer, smoothing a hand over his hair and across his shoulders. He could feel his blood moving in his veins, feel his lungs inflate with air, and his heart beating -- the way it quickened when he remembered the things of which he spoke. He tried his best to soothe with those touches, gently rubbing Silvio's back.
"It's a reasonable fear, given what you've already lived through." His voice was gentle, filled with sympathy. Oh, sure, he'd lost people who were dear to him, too, but never anyone he'd been in love with. Never a partner. He could only imagine how such a thing shattered poor Silvio's heart. And even through all of that, he's kind. He didn't grow angry or bitter.
"I can't promise that nothing will ever happen. I won't even try to craft such a lie. It's an insult to you and your feelings." He understood that, comparatively, Silvio was young. His wounds were still very fresh. Su-jin wouldn't insult him by trying to brush his fears aside. "What I can promise is it cherish every moment we have together. And I can promise to walk with you while your heart heals."
