Felix bounces where he sits, so truly glad that Paio likes the foods he’s suggested so far! There’s little better than sharing the things one enjoys with a friend. Not just food, but adventures, too! They’ll definitely have an adventure in the corn maze and the hay ride and then there’s supposed to be a bonfire later! It’ll be so great to get to be with Paio while he experiences all that for the very first time.

Turning his attention to where Paio’s pointing, Felix lifts up the caramel apple by the stick and holds it proudly between them. “This is called a caramel apple,” he declares with a grin. “Caramel is sweet and the apple, which is tart, gets dipped in it. Then, they dip it in either ground-up candy pieces or different kinds of nuts. This one has nuts to give it a little more crunch. Want to try it? Just take a bite.”

"Caramel apple..."

He tilted his head and watched it for a moment before looking at Felix. He just needed to take a bite? Okay. Scooting closer, he leaned forward to take one. Or tried to. As it turned out it wasn't that easy and he only managed some caramel and nuts. Unaware that he hadn't fully succeeded, he just gave a happy hum and wiggled in his seat.

Oh sweets were so goooood.

Felix almost went cross-eyed looking at the tiny spot Paio bit. Then he giggled and held the apple to his own mouth to demonstrate. "Big bite, big bite~!" Chomp! The cracked with a crisp sound and the taste of the tart juice mixed with the sweet caramel. Mmm, good stuff! CHeekig the bite, he held the apple towards Paio again.

"Try again."

His eyes widened when he saw the big bite and how he could see the fruit under it now. Gasping, he leaned forward then went for the part of the apple already bitten into since it would be easier to take a bite. This time he was able to get the caramel and the apple all in one go and he gasped as he slowly chewed.

Oh! Oh! It was so good! So different from everything that Felix had shown him so far!

Oh, how he brightened when he saw Paio's expression change. Delightful! He was so happy to be able to share these little things he liked so much with someone else.

"You can get these all year, but they're very popular in fall. I think I saw a place where you could make your own, too! We could try that at some point today if you want to."

"Why are they popular when things fall?" He'd forgotten that fall also meant autumn. It was just harder for him to remember that one for some reason! Paio really was trying to remember though.

"You make them? How do you do that?" This seemed like magic honestly. Something so delicious couldn't possibly be made by people!

Felix didn't mind. He couldn't expect Paio to suddenly memorize the meanings of every single word. "Fall, the season. People call autumn 'fall' because of the leaves falling from the trees."

Holding the apple between them, Felix wiggled happily. "The apples come from trees. The people put them on sticks and you can dip them different toppings."

He took another bite and hummed so happily at the taste. It was delicious. So delicious! Fish was still the best but this was amazing! He absolutely loved it!

"There's other flavors on the apples? Are they good too?" He was so full of questions now about this new discovery. He just couldn't help himself!

"Yes! This one is a sweet called caramel. But you can get it with all sorts of toppings!"

He took another chomp of the apple and hummed so happily as he chewed it. The sweet and stick caramel and that tart apple mixed so sell on his tongue.

"We can go make a bunch to try if you think you're hungry enough."
