Hmmmm...was this guy familiar to him? Eh. Didn't matter really. Because he wasn't working right now. Tonight was all about having a fucking great time. So he quickly abandoned that thought in favor of a huge grin as he just grabbed the guy's hand to haul him over with him to the haunted hay ride he wanted to do, waving to the person working it that he had a partner now.

Hopping up, he sat with his brand new friend and then nudged him with his arm.

"You into scary shit? They're telling me it's supposed to be the scariest they've ever done but I'm ready for it to be funny instead."

Hey, Esen’s not the only member of the rebellion that hangs out with bounty hunters… even if his hanging out with one was unwittingly.

His glove hand hesitated only a fraction of a second before curling around the stranger’s. Well, they were friends if only for this haunted hay ride. Trust wasn’t something that came easily to him, all things considered. It was risky. But what were the chances of someone knowing him on this world? He didn’t have the prolific reputation many of his world’s rebellion possessed. There were perks to being behind the scenes. And Esen didn’t travel off-world often, even more of a safety net. He didn’t have to run like so many of the others did.

Maybe that’s why it didn’t occur to him that this person could be a threat.

“There will probably be jump scares at worst,” he mused. What he considered scary didn’t align with what this holiday seemed to be about.

"Probably. Maybe they'll try for a creepy ghost story." He made some spooky noises and wiggled his fingers at the guy then burst out laughing. "It'll be fun even if it's not scary though. I love stuff like this because they can get real creative with it."

He looked over his shoulder to see if they were going to start soon. Yep. They were on their way.

"Usually I can do these on my own or join a random group but they said partners for this one. Probably some dating opportunity for big strong tops to protect their baby bottoms."

Esen quickly covered his mouth to laugh. There wasn’t much of that where he came from. And certainly not in public! But Esen had more occasion to laugh than most. His family was warm and loving behind closed doors and he and his best friend often shot off sassy quips during those rare times they could communicate. Still, there were certain behaviors ingrained in him from living where he does.

That last part nearly had Esen laughing again. Just the mental image of it. Something about Chasin’s boldness was a little endearing. He would definitely become a ‘person if interest’ were they in Esen’s world. Everything about him screamed individuality. More so than most he encountered here.

If they were going to be friends for the evening… Esen finally dropped his hand to reveal a warm smile. “What’s your name?”

"Chasin. How about you?"

His name would probably be known to Esen if he kept up on the bigger bounty hunters out there. One thing Chasin never tried to do was hide who or what he was. He wanted the respect that came from his accomplishments. Well, in a way. Mostly he just wanted to be acknowledged for them but didn't give a shit if he was liked for them or not. Mostly he just wanted his name to be recognized.

Not that any of that mattered at this moment though. He wasn't on the clock, after all!

Oh, he did indeed recognize that name. And somehow, he managed not to react. Maybe the perk of growing up on a world where things like displays of human emotion could get one severely punished. Esen's never been so thankful for his mask than right now.

He also knew better than to use his real name when he traveled. Everyone traveling here with him all had pseudonyms to use. Before being allowed to leave their world, any member of their movement had an entire new identity and history to memorize. So Esen was able to pull off a smile and he extended his hand as per the conventional greeting in this world.

"Altan."

"Altan."

Humming in thought, he looked over at the guy. Looked him up and down. One would probably think he somehow saw right through the act. Even though there was no way for him to have done so.

In the end, he shook his head.

"Nah. Doesn't suit you. I'm gonna call you Tanny."

For a few tense seconds, Esen was sure Chasin saw through him. Because he doesn't travel off-world often, Esen put a great deal of effort into his cover story and now, to fear, if even fleetingly, that he'd failed... Well, at least all the supplies were already delivered.

The relief that washed over him caused him to breathe out, which he then added a laugh to. This guy sure was amusing. And dangerous, he reminded himself. And dangerous.

"If you like," he agreed with a genuine smile. "I don't mind."

Chasin grinned at him, swinging his legs and actually missing the first scare because he was so pleased with himself. As a result he was left blinking then laughing. Nudging his partner, he pointed to the poor actor who had tried to get him.

"Poor guy. I completely messed up his act. Look at him so shocked over there."

Esen covered his mouth to hide his laugh. The poor actor looked so baffled at Chasin's lack of reaction.

"You'll have to act extra scared for the next one, okay?"

"You too, okay? Give it your best scream. I'll cling to you to make it extra legit too."

He grinned as he let his legs swing again, listening for the next scare while also just relaxing. "This is fun. I don't get a lot of downtime like this."

Wow, this guy sure was a fun one. Not that Esen didn't know people who could make him smile or laugh, just that big displays of emotion in public places were typically frowned upon where he's from. This world was definitely more free when it came to that and Esen wanted to savor it.

So he smiled and nodded in agreement.

"Me either," he admitted. Then added, "I have a stuffy finance job," as if to explain.
