Lissa can also sense the way some of her friends immediately eye him as he touches her, but she continues to invite him into her space, lacing her gloved fingers. Hopefully, that puts them, especially her best friend, at ease, though she knows that Rose will never truly let her enter a dangerous situation.

She knows Matthias isn't good news, but to her, he's never been especially bad. At least bad in ways that aren't to her benefit.

"Mads," Lissa murmurs with a grin, leaning in close so she can whisper in his ear. "You're not going to spirit me away to another country, are you?"

For the most part, Matthias is a nuisance, at best. Lissa's fun so he doesn't have to wring anything from her since fun is all he wants. She never struck him as the sort who feels particularly bad about anything she does. Plus, he has an iota more respect for people who aren't your average baseline human. He tends to mess with them less because the last thing he wants is a power and/or long-lived enemy to make his life irksome.

"I was thinking somewhere a little closer tonight." Like, his place, for example.
