For the most part, Matthias is a nuisance, at best. Lissa's fun so he doesn't have to wring anything from her since fun is all he wants. She never struck him as the sort who feels particularly bad about anything she does. Plus, he has an iota more respect for people who aren't your average baseline human. He tends to mess with them less because the last thing he wants is a power and/or long-lived enemy to make his life irksome.
