(( There are times when Elyas is excitedly relaying his afternoon adventures with the local children that Laurent truly laments that he's condemned to darkness. How he would love to be able to see his beloved gumiho frolic with the small ones. ))
of course. they think that's when all the monsters come out, while not even considering how monstrous their own kind can be in the middle of the day :)
[ every once in a while, elyas will see this sadness come over laurent when he's telling him about the things he's done during the day (the things that can usually only be done during the day) and it kills him to keep going. it starts to feel like bragging to his dear vampire that he can go out during the day. but the idea of not telling him is just as soul crushing. because that's the only way laurent gets to experience the daytime now.
he truly hopes that the city, with all of its street lights and bright signs, will provide them with some children who're still out playing after dark ]

(( Perhaps the fact that this city is brightly lit and it's still late in summer, there could be some children still out to play. It would be nice. Laurent is never sad for long that he can't take part in that aspect of Elyas' life. He would never ask him to give it up or to cease telling his wondrous tales of the fading daylight. It makes it easier for Laurent to remember that it still exists. ))
