"Lunch?" He repeated, feigning surprise. "Is it so late already?" As if he didn't habitually sleep in 'til nearly noon. He nestled a little closer, the gesture somehow petulant, a pointed refusal to get out of bed yet. He's surprised his mother hadn't burst in sooner to harry him from bed. Ah, but she was probably pouring all her knowledge into Maud. Well, good. She could use the distraction.
