Paio wasn't one to leave the sea. Not for lack of trying though! He'd tried a couple of times to go with his colony for their surface trips but it was always just...too scary. He backed out at the last minute every single time and then was sad that he was still such a coward. This was one of those days. He'd gotten as far as the shallows and then they rolled their eyes and left him behind. Again.

Curled up on the sea floor, he miserably waited for them to come back. At least he was miserable until he heard a beautiful sound he'd never heard before. It was soothing enough to allow him to be brave enough to swim up and poke his head up. A little seal head poking out of the surface of the water.

Seeing a human, he ducked back down again and nervously swam in a circle. Until he saw a large bunch of rocks. Swimming there, Paio shed his pelt and then shyly looked around a rock to watch the human with the pretty sounds.
