When Snake realized where Tiras was going, he sat up a little straighter, as if he might get up to follow… or stop him.
“Oh, wait,” he called after him. “… the bed’s not made.”
He was about to get up when another knock sounded. Snake safely assumed that was his dinner and not some other unexpected guest. Closer to the door, he could smile his noodles through it and even put on a small smile as he opened the door.
A quiet conversation ensued, the usual sort of ‘thanks so much’ Snake gave to his delivery drivers. After the driver left, Snake closed the door and sauntered to the kitchen to get a pair of plates and utensils.
“You want something to drink?” he called a little louder so Tiras would hear him from the loft. He didn’t know Tiras had much keener hearing than any human and that he didn’t really need to call out for him.
