“Listen to you, being all sentimental~” He reaches over to playfully swat Sam’s shoulder, then nods off in another direction. “I’ve been through no fewer than five different gardens here and I still think there are some I haven’t yet!” It sounds like he’s whining, but for someone who knows Matthias as well as Sam does, they’d know it’s an invitation.

“I should never have let you go off on your own. It’s been dull all by myself.” Though he’s spent plenty of time chatting with other guests, they just don’t hit the same note as Sam. Maybe it’s because they’ve been companions for a while. Maybe it’s just the flavor of him that pulls Matthias back again and again. Not like he’s tried hard (or at all) to leave.

“What have you been doing without me, hm?”
